TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy often says he is not someone who can influence the party leadership but he only does whatever the party tells him to do. But many say that there is a big difference between what he says and what he does. We can understand his stature in the party by looking at the candidates list that was released recently. It was a shock for many after looking at a few candidates. When the party is entering the elections, there is a need to field strong candidates.

If we look at the candidates' list that was prepared, more than the finalized candidates in a few constituencies, aspirants who could not get the tickets are looking strong which is strange. It appears that the list has Revanth Reddy’s mark. In the wake of leaders who are dubbed as strong loyalists leaving the party, Revanth is preparing his own team.

There is an opinion that the party leadership is giving a free hand to him in this regard. It is said that this is the reason why the party listened to him and the names he mentioned were in the first phase. Tickets were given to those who were preferred by Revanth Reddy. The TPCC Chief who influenced the party leadership is said to have behaved intelligently in Sharmila’s episode.

Though the party leadership is interested in the merger of YS Sharmila’s party, Revanth Reddy is said to have explained the leadership the negative impacts. It is said that Revanth Reddy told the leadership that the party’s merger would have a negative impact more than a positive impact. As the leadership is preferring the TPCC chief’s word, YS Sharmila’s episode was kept aside. Reports say that the leadership was satisfied with the arguments that Sharmila’s joining will not only create more groups in the party but also give a chance to the BRS boss to ignite the sentiment. With this, Congress said no to YS Sharmila’s proposal.
