2023 has been a worse year for the employees given the massive lay offs. Throughout the year lakhs of employees were removed in the United States. The land of opportunities lost its charm as many people across the fields lost their jobs and became unemployed.

While many sectors saw layoffs, the IT sector was hit hard with the major share of layoffs recorded in the sector. 2024 is not behaving any differently. In just one and a half months in the new year, the US saw more than 35k layoffs already.

The trend shows that the layoffs would continue further in the year as a few companies are in the line to sack the employees. A few big companies are slated to sack the employees in the coming days. Even the giants in the respective fields are gearing up for the layoffs.

Looking at the reasons for this, the main reasons are the companies want to make the work size crisp and cut the costs. The performance of the respective companies is also a big reason behind this. If the company recorded loss in the quarters then the administration is going for layoffs.

So three factors are playing a key role in this. The performance and profit posed by the companies is the main reason and the companies focusing on making the work size sharp and cost cutting are the other reasons.

To make the workforce crisp the management is said to be involving the employees in training to learn various things as far as the work is concerned. By making the workforce learn various things the managements wants to make the work ecosystem vibrant. As employees will have expertise in many areas, one employee can take care of different work.

Another big reason is that the managements are focusing on cost-cutting. By removing excessive employees the companies want to make the workforce short and crisp. With this, they can also manage their expenditure and cut on costs.
