The global health body World Health Organization (WHO) which works on promoting health has come up with news that we as a world want to hear. The health body predicted that one of the leading causes of death in the world will see a big rise in cases by around 77 percent.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death as every sixth death in the world is caused by cancer. With this, we can understand the danger it poses to the world. As of 2022, there are around 20 million cases of cancer in the world.

WHO came up with a shocking prediction that by 2050, cancer cases will be more than 35 million, which translates to an increase of around 77 percent. On the website, the WHO shared the findings of the study conducted by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

A survey was conducted in as many as 115 countries across the globe and the findings were published. The available data in the countries was also used to publish the findings. The study also sheds light on the poor facilities in many countries.

The ugly picture as far as health facilities are concerned is that the majority of nations have no required facilities to face the cause or treat people. The reason for this is the poor finance allocation and this is the case in many countries.

On top of the poor facilities in many nations, WHO also said that the number of cases and deaths will also increase by 2050. As per the data, in 2020 around 20 million cases and 9.7 million deaths were reported. Both men and women die of cancer. While 1 in 9 men die of cancer, the number is 1 in 12 for women.

WHO also talked about the types of cancers that amount to the major cases in 2022. Lung cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer were the top types of cancers in the infections with lung cancer standing at the top.
