In April, this thrilling event will happen. Approximately 12,000 humans and several robots will compete in this 13-mile half-marathon. Prizes will be awarded to the top three human and robotic runners.
For this unique event, more than 20 firms have developed robots. The sole requirements are that the robots be able to walk or run on two legs and have a human-like appearance.
Robots can operate autonomously or under human control. During the race, participants can swap out the robot's batteries if necessary.
Among the robots vying for the title is "Tiangong." About six miles per hour can be covered by this robot. Tiangong started and finished a different race last year. This time, however, the entire race will be run by Tiangong and other robots!
