Is This The Reason Behind YCP Cadres Committing Suicides?

The YCP recorded a massive defeat in the Andhra Pradesh general elections. In what could be an unexpected result, YCP which won 151 seats in the last elections was restricted to just 11 seats in 2024. It is said that the party leaders are busy finding the reasons for the defeat. A few others are blaming the CMO for the situation.

It is said that some leaders are blaming the Volunteer system while few others are listing out the mistakes YCP made when it was in power. Keeping this aside, the incidents of YCP activists committing suicide are coming out. Bettings are said to be the reason behind this more than being upset.

The political observers say that YCP had instilled brief in the cadres that they will win the elections which they could not do with the voters. Many say that the party chief failed completely in getting the public pulse at the ground level. Firms like I-Pac and Aara Mastan predicted a win for the YCP.

Due to the confidence of the YCP, the cadre is said to have placed big bettings on the win in elections. Not just the survey firms even YS Jagan sounded confident of another win. Why Not 175 slogan was used largely. Cadre was confident that they might get at least 100 seats even if they lost 75.

Cut to results the party was restricted to just 11 seats. The party did not even have the status of opposition. Amid this, it is said that a few party activists are committing suicide. There is an opinion that losing the money they placed in bets is the reason behind this more than the party’s defeat and Jagan’s defeat.
