The housing market is subject to a lot of volatility in the coming days as the jobs sector is taking a beating due to the AI revolution and the subsequent offset of jobs globally. On that note, let us have a look at the housing preferences of the current generation population.

On one side, many 25 year olds in India are now buying homes much earlier than previous generations. In the past, people usually waited until 35 or later to settle down and purchase property.

But today, young professionals with stable jobs and better salaries are choosing to buy houses in their mid twenties. Easy access to home loans, online banking, and real estate apps has made the process simpler. For many young Indians, owning a home means security, independence, and a strong long term asset.

At the same time, there is another growing trend. Some members of Gen Z are moving away from the dream of owning a big house. Instead of putting all their savings into property, they are investing in stocks and financial markets.

They feel that the stock market offers faster growth and more flexibility. With trading apps and easy online access, investing has become simple and popular among young people.

So India is seeing two strong trends at once. Some young adults are buying homes early. Others are choosing stocks over property. Both show that this generation is more financially aware and confident about making its own choices.

This ultimately comes down to the individual preferences of the current generation, and this is perfectly understandable, considering the social media influence and the changing lifestyles.
