The former chief minister went and indicate that he is regretting the decision of supporting the proposal made by the government regarding the chief election commissioner.
Previously, the appointment of the Chief election Commissioner required the approval of the Prime Minister, Opposition leader and the Supreme Court chief justice. Only the person approved by all three individuals was permitted to hold the position.
But things changed in the recent past, after only two approvals was sufficient enough to hold the position, and Jagan had supported the same as well.
However, Jagan has now publicly said that he is regretting the approval of this decision as it has backfired badly. He gave the implication that he is no longer in good terms with the NDA and could be changing his stand on supporting the central government at multiple levels.
This was followed by another strong comment against the election procedure in Andhra Pradesh, as he said the state election Commissioner is clearly favouring the local government.
The former CM delivered a very strong stand against the election commission and also the way in which Andhra Pradesh is preparing for the upcoming local body election.
