AP Govt's Big Step To Fight Heart Attacks!

The heart attacks are increasing rapidly. Due to various reasons, people irrespective of their age are sustaining heart attacks. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed at the earliest. As an example of how problematic the situation is, even teenagers are sustaining heart attacks and breathing their last.

Taking a big call as a safety measure, the Andhra Pradesh government came up with a praise-worthy step to fighting this. It is known that the YCP government has been implementing the flagship schemes covering almost all the sectors and this includes health schemes as well.

YSR Arogyasri health scheme is being implemented in the state under which various treatments are now. As a big step, ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treatment is also taken into the scheme fold so that more patients would benefit and get the required treatment.

For the unversed, STEMI is one of the heart attack types which is a serious one and poses a great risk. When a person sustains a STEMI heart attack, then his or her lower chambers in the heart get affected and they would be at a big risk.

Talking about the treatment, patients will be given thrombolytic injections which help in stopping blood clots and could bring down the heart attack damage. If people are given the injections at the right time, then they would get another chance. This is the importance the injections carry.

As using the injections at the right time can save lives, the government decided to include this and a few camps were held in a bunch of cities as a pilot project. The same would be expanded further. Tirupati, Kurnool, and Vizag which are some of the big cities in the state were picked for the pilot project for this.

It is known that the health sector went through a big transformation now and by taking STEMI treatment into the health scheme, people will get treatment for the big cause.The central government would also provide partial funding for the implementation of STEMI treatment. Along with Tirupati, pilot projects have been launched in Himachal Pradesh and Ludhiana too.
