In the previous elections, it recorded a landslide victory and won 151 seats. This time, the party wants to achieve an even bigger target. YCP leadership wants to win all the Assembly seats in the state.
Keeping aside the debate of whether this is possible or not, the party fixed the target and is not leaving any stone unturned in putting in the best efforts. However, the party is facing an unexpected issue as the MLAs are coming out to speak against the leadership.
In an unwanted trend for the party, there is growing discomfort among the YCP MLAs. Recently an MLA alleged that he was targeted by a certain community and taking the matter to the notice of big leaders also did not give him any relief. With this, he said that he wants to quit politics. However, he said that he would work hard for the defeat of the MP.
Days after this, Penamaluru MLA Kolusu Partha Sarathy made some explosive comments He said that he is not been recognized by Chief Minister Jagan despite working hard and winning the electrons. Addressing a meeting, he made these big claims.
On the occasion of expressing his dissatisfaction, the senior politician took the opportunity to thank the people in his constituency who stood by them through thick and thin. Despite the negative campaigns against me, people supported me and I would not forget this, he said.
The two incidents raised the question of why the MLAs are feeling dissatisfied and having issues with the leadership. Leaders facing issues with others and leadership is not new and we have seen this many times. But we saw two such incidents in a short gap.
This is not a good sight for the ruling party which wants to record another landslide win. The surveys are also in favour of the YCP. However, the MLAs are facing issues due to various reasons. If the leadership won't act fast and look into the issues they might be a big problem.
This is not the first time, the MLAs troubled the YCP. Earlier this year, the YCP leadership suspended four MLAs for the allegations of cross-voting. Claiming that the four MLAs voted for TDP in the MLC elections, the party suspended four MLAs Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Vundvalli Sridevi.
