While the ruling party has already announced the list of candidates for 115 seats, the focus is now on the grand old Congress party. Leaders who did not get the tickets are reportedly looking at the party.
The reason behind the focus is that, of late we have been hearing a lot about YS Sharmila’s political party possibly getting merged into the Congress party. As she is a known face in the state, she is likely to campaign for the party for the upcoming polls in the state.
Amid this, YS Sharmila made some crucial comments and said that the talks for her political party’s merger are in the last stage and also gave a reason behind holding talks with bigwigs in the party Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
As per the media reports, YS Sharmila reportedly said that the talks for the merger were underway and that she held talks with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi given the respect they have for her father YSR. Her alleged comments hint that very soon we will hear big news about this.
The Congress party took the upcoming elections prestigious and is not leaving any stone unturned in this regard. Besides sorting out the issues among the leaders, the party is also welcoming big leaders from other parties. Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy already joined the Congress party and Thummala Nageswara Rao is also expected to take the same route.
Talking about YS Sharmila, she is the daughter of YSR, a veteran Congressman. His supporters and sympathisers are in both states and they can come in handy in the upcoming elections.
In areas where the Christian population is big like Secunderabad seat and others, her campaign might help the party and also get votes from the community. If her party gets merged into the Congress party and we can get some clarity about this before the polls, then it would be an additional advantage for the Congress party. Let us wait for the official word to come out which will give a big clarity.
