Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu went through a tough time with the AP Skill Development scam. He was arrested and sent to jail. After a long legal battle, he was given relief. But the happiness did not last long as a few other cases came back to bite him. This is now what the party wants to see ahead of elections.

Inner Ring Road Case is among the cases which alleges that the Master plan in the Amaravati city which was proposed as the Capital city in the previous term went through some manipulations for certain gains. The former Chief Minister was given an anticipatory bail by the High Court earlier.

The Andhra Pradesh government moved the Supreme Court challenging the bail. The petition went before the bench of justices Sanjiv Khana and Dipankar Datta. The bench dismissed the petition giving a big relief to the TDP boss. The decision came as a big shock to the government too.

After the arguments of both sides, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition. Not just that the bench also supported the verdict of the High Court. This can be seen as a big relief to the TDP boss, say the experts.

Saying that the other accused in the case are out on bail, the bench asked what’s the problem if Chandrababu is given bail and he stays out. The bench quashed the petition filed by the AP government to challenge the High Court orders.

It is known that the TDP government proposed Amaravati as the capital city and a massive amount of land was taken for the capital needs. It is alleged that, to help a few companies and individuals, the Inner Ring Road alignment was reportedly manipulated.

AP CID is probing the case and a few others are named as accused in the case besides former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He was given anticipatory bail in the case earlier.
