Recent Data Says How Social Media Users Flourished!

Social media is not just a bunch of messaging apps and it has a lot more than that. Social media emerged as a powerful medium. The information can be spread rapidly on social media. Being active on social media feels like being connected to the world. People irrespective of their age groups are using social media.

To give an example of how humongous social media is the majority population in the world is active on social media and they spend a good amount of time on social media. The active social media users count increased compared to the previous year.

Digital advisory firm Kepios in its recent report mentioned surprising details on social media users. As per its observation, there are as many as 500 crore active social media users in the world. The data was collected up to July this year.

The data the firm gathered said that compared to the previous year, the active social media users count increased by 3.7 percent. Around sixty percent of the total world population uses social media platforms.

However, there are a few differences in terms of social media users in various regions. In East and Central Africa, one in every 11 use social media. Talking about India, one out of every three people use the platforms.

Across the world, social media users spend 2 hours and 26 minutes per day. Just like the active social media users, the time spent on the platforms also increased. Seven platforms enjoy good numbers of active users and traffic, while Twitter, Messenger, and Telegram stand at the top position.
