The Tollywood film industry suffered a big loss with a veteran film critic, who has a long association of over five decades with the industry breathing his fire. The senior-most critic has been suffering from age-related issues for some time. After his health worsened, he left us on the night of Monday.

Ace film critic Gupidudi Srihari, who is credited for writing reviews and interviews that inculcate interest in the readers to wait for the work is no more. The legendary critic is 88 and he has a daughter and a son.

Gudipudi Srihari actually traveled with the industry and saw how the industry and film journalism evolved over the years. During his younger days, he witnessed the inception and growth of theatres. He started writing reviews so that people who can't go to theatres to watch films can know about the films.

Through his signature style of writing, the legendary film critic gained many fans. His pen power is that not just the common readers, the celebrities also like him and respect him.

Gudipudi Srihari's career in the film journalism arena started by working with popular publishings like Eenadu and Sitara. He is also famous for writing reviews in English dailies like Hindu. The template he started is used by many critics and review writers to date.

Gudipudi Srihari is multi talented. Besides writing film reviews and news, the ace critic follows politics and other news. He is known for his satirical point of news and he covers the news satirical. Titled 'Harivillu', he had written a lot of news and pieces of work for more than two long decades.

Reacting to the news, the Telugu Film Critics Association called it painful and condoled the death of the critic. The body had sent condolence messages and strength to the family members.

As a token of honoring the valuable services, he made to the film industry, Andhra University honored him with Keerthi Award in the writing category in 2013.

Actor-turned-politician, Pawan Kalyan issued a press release and condoled his death. Highlighting his talent who wrote many articles, Pawan Kalyan said his column shows his better understanding of politics and films.
