Irrespective of disasters like 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Saaho', the craze for pan-Indian hero Prabhas is very high. His movies collect a lot of money no matter what the reviews say. There are high expectations on his upcoming projects. Currently, Prabhas is working on 'Salaar' which is being made by Prasanth Neel. This action flick will be hitting the screens next year. Ravi Basrur is the music composer while Shruti Hassan is the heroine.
The shooting of 'Adipurush' has been wrapped up long back and the post-production works are going on. 'Adipurush' is based on the epic Hindu mythology Ramayana and Prabhas will be seen as Lord Ram while Kriti Sanon plays the role of Sita. Directed by Om Raut, Saif Ali Khan portrays the character of Lankesh in this movie. The latest news suggests that this film has created another milestone with its digital rights. Popular OTT platform Netflix has reportedly bought the streaming rights of this mythological drama for a record 250 crores. Apparently, they bought the digital rights of 'Aipurush' in all languages.
This is a huge number that no one heard till date. But reports suggest that there is a reason why Netflix is willing to pay such a huge sum of money. As we know, Netflix bought the Hindi streaming rights of Rajamouli's 'RRR' and it turned out to be a massive success. People from all over the world watched Rajamouli's flick and it ended up getting record viewership. At a time when Amazon Prime and Hotstar are ruling the roost in India, buying such big films and bringing international recognition will be a huge statement from Netflix. This is reportedly one of the main reasons for fetching so much money on Prabhas' 'Adipurush'. The official announcement is yet to be heard but Prabhas' film will get a massive global reach if this news is true.
Apart from that, he is doing a gigantic science fiction film based on the theme of time traveling. The movie is titled 'Project K' and Nag Ashwin is its director while Deepika Padukone is the heroine. Amitabh Bachchan is playing a key role. He also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit' and Maruthi's horror comedy film in the pipeline.
