Post the second lockdown, star heroes of Tollywood have left their regular style and started shooting the films at a rapid pace. Superstar Mahesh Babu who is known for his slow pace has upped the speed and is working on his upcoming film 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata'. He wants to finish this movie as quickly as possible and release it during the Sankranti season of 2022. Pawan Kalyan is also showing the same speed for his 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum' remake. The makers announced that this film will be hitting the screens on Sankranti. Not just these two but 'F3' starring Venkatesh and Varun Tej is also expected to come out during the same time. ‘F2’ which came on Sankranti 2019 season turned out to be a blockbuster which is why Anil Ravipudi is relying on his lucky festive season once again.
These three films have booked their slots for Sankranti release and moviegoers were excited to hear about this huge box office clash. But reports suggest that it may get even bigger as Prabhas is expected to enter the Pongal race. The pan-Indian hero will be releasing his romantic drama 'Radhe Shyam' during the Sankranti season of 2022 as per sources. Recently, the film's director Radha Krishna Kumar tweeted on social media which says, “All done with the last schedule of #RadheShyam… I spread my love to all our darling fans !! This pandemic had a toll on all our expectations!! An update is on the way."
The movie began long back but got postponed due to various reasons. Though the shooting is done now, they cannot release it immediately as Rajamouli's 'RRR' has booked the Dusshera season while Rajnikanth occupied the Diwali season. Since 'Radhe Shyam' is a big pan-Indian project, the makers reportedly felt that the Sankranti season will be suitable for all regions and languages. Whilst Sankranti is a big season for Tollywood, it also has the ability to generate reviews for all the big releases. But a clash between Pawan, Mahesh, Prabhas and Venky is surely mouth-watering. We need to wait for the official announcement to come out in order to get any clarity.
