Star director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actress Alia Bhatt are currently working for the much-anticipated film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. The film has been in the headlines ever since it was announced way back in 2019. The shooting schedule is in full swing and it is almost complete. The last leg of shooting commences on a newly-erected set at Film City.
The latest update is that the film will be released during the Diwali season this year. The film marks the first collaboration between the director and Alia Bhatt where the star will be playing a titular character. The film follows the journey of Gangubai from being forces into prostitution to becoming the Mafia Queen' in Kamathipura in Mumbai.
As per reports, the actress has given her career's best performance in the film and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to declare this is a new beginning for her. Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, has a series of films lined up like Brahmastra and RRR.
