In spite of all the reviews, accolades and awards, a film's true verdict is decided by its box-office collections. Chiranjeevi's historic drama 'Sye Raa' released with huge buzz, opened to super positive reviews and the recorded terrific numbers in its first weekend.
Even after all this, seems like the film may not reach break even and end up in losses. The film was made with a grand budget and its theatrical rights were sold for huge rates. The film was declared a disaster in North and the film is doing good business only in the Telugu states and Karnataka. As the Dasara season ended, the collections will be dipping drastically.
Industry circles are gossiping that Mega producer Allu Aravind predicted this result and kept distance from 'Sye Raa' right from the beginning. Known for his amazing business sense, Aravind reportedly guessed that senior heroes like Chiru may not have a pan-Indian appeal and this will have a big effect on films with 300 crore budget. Probably, this is the reason he wasn't involved in any money matters related to 'Sye Raa'.
