Actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna turned 61 on Thursday. His birthday is not less than a festival to his fans. However, his birthday was a low-key celebration this year, duke to Covid impact.

The Hindupur legislator had earlier urged his fans to not gather in big numbers and wish him in person on his birthday in the wake of Covid fear. In the statement, he made on Facebook, Balayya Babu expressed his condolences to fans and others, who lost their lives to the pandemic.

Balakrishna celebrated his birthday with the patients and staff members of his Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer hospital. Balakrishna wore the traditional attire for the celebrations.

Taking to Facebook, Balakrishna shared a glimpse of his celebrations at the hospital with the patients and staff members. He said he is feeling blessed to be able to contribute to the welfare of cancer patients a blessing.

"With the blessings of my beloved father Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Garu & mother Smt Basavatarakam Garu, I celebrated my birthday with the staff members of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital. Genuinely feeling blessed to be able to contribute to the welfare of needy cancer patients," Balakrishna captioned the post.

On the work front, Balakrishna is currently working for Boyapati Srinu directorial Akhanda, the hattrick collaboration of the hit combo. On his birthday, Balakrishna's next tentatively titled NBK 107. Gopichand Malineni will direct the film, while Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar will bankroll the project under the Mythri Movies banner.
