'Banaras' is a film that created a decent buzz with its posters and songs. This pan-Indian film is expected to be a pleasant love story set in the backdrop of Varanasi (Banaras city). The makers released the trailer recently and it changes the perception on the movie. It is a love story with a concept of time travel.
Produced by Tilakraj Ballal under the banner of NK Productions, the makers of the movie announced its release date, on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi. Zaid Khan, son of Karnataka's 4-times MLA Zameer Ahmed, is making his film debut as a hero while Sonal Monteiro is the leading lady. Zaid Khan trained at Anupam Kher's acting school, before making his film debut to learn all the skills to become an actor.
The trailer fails to make an impression and the visuals lack the grandeur required for a pan-Indian film. Many are stating that it is being projected as a pan-Indian flick though it lacks the required content. While the concept raises curiosity, the acting and the editing for the trailer lacked the required punch. With a disappointing trailer, it is to be seen how the film turns out when it hits the screens.
The cast includes Zaid Khan, Sonal Monteiro, Sujay Shastry, Devaraj, Achyuth Kumar, Sapna Raj, Barkath Ali and others. Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music while Advaitha Gurumurthy is the cinematographer. Jayathirtha is the writer and director of this film while Raghu Niduvalli penned the dialogues. A Vuay and Different Danny did the action choreography while Arun Sagar and Seenu took care of the art department.
