Small screen stars have a lot of popularity thanks to the people who watch them regularly on the television. A lot of anchors, TV actors and others enjoy a lot of craze among the public and try to replicate it on the big screen. A lot of small-screen stars have tried their luck in movies but none of them became successful in recent times.
Also, most of these TV stars do films in which they are the lead characters. The same people who love them on the small screens don't turn up to theatres for some reason. We all know the craze of 'Jabardasth' fame Sudheer but all his attempts to become a silver screen hero failed badly. The same happened with top anchor Pradeep whose '30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela?' was a big disaster. Anchor Ravi too met with the same result. Not just heroes but all the female-oriented films Rashmi and Anasuya did were not successful.
Now, star anchor Suma who is ruling the small screen for the past 15-20 years is arriving with a new film. She played the title role in a movie called 'Jayamma Panchayiti'. News is that Suma bankrolled this film too. Suma is not new to the silver screen as she entered the industry as a heroine but soon became famous as an anchor. After all these years, she is testing her luck as a lead actor in movies once again. There are a few who claim that the title looks like a reality show's name. We need to wait and see if Suma scores a hit or follows the same path as other small-screen stars.
