Termed as one of the biggest releases of this year, Mahesh Babu's 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' released this Sankranti season with a lot of expectations. The film got average response from the critics. Being a Mahesh Babu film, the film is getting good collections but we need to see how far it goes. Also, this film is facing huge competition from Allu Arjun and Trivikram's 'Ala Vaikunthapuramlo'.

Despite praising Mahesh's energetic performance, the critics are severely panning Anil Ravipudi's work. They are questioning his sense of clarity as he started the film on a serious note but immediately shifted to his comedy genre. He even turned the Kashmir scenes into a light-hearted manner. After some fun scenes in the train episodes, he suddenly threw the film into serious mode. This lack of continuity has been severely criticized.

The heroine in the film completely goes missing after the train episodes and appears a few minutes before 'Mind Block' song. Also, the train episode did not click as expected. This train episode is the lengthiest one after 'Venky' but it could not generate enough laughs to keep the audience engaged.

Director Anil Ravipudi tried to create comedy with heroine's family in this episode but the characters and their behaviour have a striking resemblance to the characters in his previous flick 'F2'.

The dominating wife and her daughters having their husbands under their control are very similar to 'F2'. The characters of Pragati, Tamanna and Mehreen in 'F2' are the same as what Sangeetha, Hariteja and Rashmika did in 'Sarileru Neekevvaru'. Also, the dumb and innocent heroine role definitely reminds you of Venkatesh and Varun Tej starrer.

It is usual to write different versions for a sequence in the film. Many people are saying that Anil Ravipudi took another version that he did not use in 'F2' and made them as comedy scenes in 'Sarileru Neekevvaru'. Wonder what really happened?
