But here is a rare situation where distributors have reportedly forced a star hero's film into having a director OTT release. It is none other than Tamil hero Dhanush's upcoming film 'Jagame Thantram' directed by versatile director Karthik Subbaraj.
Dhanush and team are trying to release this
film in theatre from a very long time. The movie has a huge buzz around
it due to its interesting and innovative motion posters and songs. But
the distributors are not willing to release it in theatres due to their
feud with director Karthik Subbaraj.
The 'Petta' director
released his production venture 'Penguin' directly on the OTT platform
despite the warnings of distributors during the lockdown period. This
angered the distributors and they are now standing against his next film
'Jagame Thantram' to have a theatrical release. With no option left,
they are now releasing this film on Netflix as they offered them a big
