Due to coronavirus restrictions, a bunch of filmmakers - who are unwilling to wait for the end of the lockdown - have decided to take their movies to video streaming platforms instead of queuing up for theatrical release when theatres reopen.
As of now, several big films opted for digital release. Now, the latest news is that popular digital platform Amazon Prime has acquired the rights of Bhaagamathie Hindi remake "Durgavati", which stars Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role.
Recently, the film has resumed it's shooting and the OTT giant is planning to premiere the film by this year-end once the shooting formalities are done.
Durgavati will be presented by Akshay Kumar and produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment.
