Veteran director Gunasekhar who made some memorable films like 'Bala Ramayanam', 'Choodalani Vundi' and 'Okkadu' is now coming up with a historical drama named 'Shaakunthalam'. His last movie 'Rudhramadevi' arrived in 2015 and it took 8 years for him to arrive with this flick which has decent expectations on it. The movie is releasing on 17th February and the post-production works are in the last stage.

The trailer got a good response and Samantha is playing the title role. She is looking very glamorous in the film and we all are aware of her acting skills. As we know, Allu Arjun's daughter Arha is playing a special role in the movie and in a recent interview, Gunasekhar revealed that her screentime is just six minutes. He also revealed an interesting fact that no Telugu hero came forward to play the role of Dushyanta in his movie.

The makers brought Malayalam actor Dev Mohan onboard to act as Dushyanta but it is surprising to listen that none of the Telugu heroes were keen on doing this part. It is a heroine-oriented movie and we all know that no hero wants to play the second fiddle considering their image and fanbase. Let us see how Dev Mohan performs in 'Shaakunthalam'.

Music is composed by Mani Sharma while 'Shaakuntalam' is written and directed by Gunasekhar. Neelima Guna produced this film while Shekar V Joseph is the cinematographer. Prawin Pudi is the editor while Sai Madhav Burra penned the dialogues. Presented by Dil Raju, Dev Mohan will be seen as Dushyanta. Ananya Nagalla, Aditi Balan, Mohan Babu, Prakash Rah, Gautam, Kabir Bedi, Kabir Singh Duhan and others played key roles. Raju Sundaram is the choreographer while Venkat and King Solomen have designed the action.
