It looks like the comments made on 'KGF' by Venkatesh Maha are not going to let him live in peace anytime soon. While many people are trolling the 'C/o Kancherapalem' director heavily, hero Nani too backed commercial films saying that Tollywood wouldn't have been where it is today if not for commercial films.
Now, director Harish Shankar decided to give a response to Maha's statements but in a very subtle and composed manner. During the success meet of 'Balagam', he said that there is no need to have a fight regarding class and mass movies within the industry as there are a lot of bigger issues to deal with. He quipped that already people are not coming to theatres and preferring OTT platforms. There are many other problems as well which is why he said that there is no need to create controversies in the name of class and mass.
He further stated that when a small film with good content arrives, it is the big directors who make mass commercial movies that carry it on their shoulders and promote it. He gave a class by saying that one person likes to ride a bicycle and enjoy the cool breeze while the other likes to ride in a car that has an air conditioner. Each of them has their own preference. He went on to say that curd is good for health but a lot of people eat Biryani. It is not right to tell them to stop eating Biryani completely. All they can see is to have some curd after completing the biryani.
In this manner, Harish Shankar tried to give a subtle and composed message to the young director. On the work front, Harish is working on 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' which is a remake of 'Theri'. A huge set is built and the regular shooting is expected to begin this month.
