Thanks to the pan-Indian market unlocked by SS Rajamouli, a lot of filmmakers are showing interest in collaborating with actors from other regions and languages. We have seen Telugu directors working for Tamil movies and vice versa. Tamil directors are always known for their unique concepts and interesting storytelling. They have a good craze in Telugu states too but they are failing to deliver when they team up with Telugu heroes in recent times.
Superstar Mahesh Babu worked with Tamil's most wanted director Murugadoss back in 2017. Even expected 'Spyder' to be a racy thriller with a superb story but the movie ended up being one of the biggest disasters in Mahesh's career. After 'Arjun Reddy', Vijay Deverakonda wanted to increase his popularity in Telugu and worked with Anand Shankar. Their film 'Nota' was a huge disaster as well. Last year, Ram Pothineni worked with noted director Lingusamy for 'The Warriorr' and it was a big failure. Recently, Naga Chaitanya teamed up with Venkat Prabhu who had a good track record. They made a Telugu-Tamil bilingual named 'Custody' and it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
With Tamil directors giving disasters for Telugu heroes, everyone is now worried about 'Game Changer'. This pan-Indian movie produced on a grand scale by Dil Raju has Ram Charan playing the lead while Shankar is the director. Legendary filmmaker Shankar is known for his message-oriented commercial movies and he was considered as the top director in South India for a long time. But his last few movies disappointed the audience and he is working with Ram Charan now. Looking at the recent results of Tamil directors in Telugu and considering Rajamouli's curse on heroes who worked with him, fans are very worried about 'Game Changer'.
But sources say that the movie is coming out really well and the entire unit is very confident about the output. Around 75% of the shooting is done and Kiara Advani is the leading lady while Thaman is the music composer. We need to see if Shankar puts an end to this sentiment or not.
