The shooting of 'Indian 2' has been kept on hold from the last year or so and the war between ace director Shankar and Lyca Productions banner is getting uglier with each passing day. There are many rumors about it at one stage but the differences became public.
Lyca Productions approached the Madras High Court and it order Shankar to complete 'Indian 2' before moving on to another project. Now, Shankar is hitting them back with a counter-petition and the hearing is going to be on 4th June. Shankar says that the reasons behind the delays are different and how cutting down the budget mounted pressure on him.
After getting delayed initially due to an allergy Kamal developed due to the makeup, the death of crew members because of an accident on the sets had a deep impact on the entire team. It was further delayed by the pandemic and when Shankar decided to restart the film's shooting in October, the production house asked him to shoot with minimum crew members and with a limited budget which was impossible for Shankar's script. When asked for a plan, the producers reportedly stayed calm which made Shankar move on to projects like Ram Charan's pan-Indian film and Hindi version of 'Anniyan' with Ranveer Singh as the lead.
