The elections of Movie Artists Association (MAA) have turned into a hot topic for many. Despite having less than a thousand members in it, the debate over the leadership in MAA has grabbed more attention than state politics lately. There is a huge competition for the post of president and many parties have announced their arrival in the elections even before the election dates have been revealed. The current president hasn't stepped down till date but the film industry is already showing interest in finding out who is going to be net. Well-known names like Prakash Raj, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, Manchu Vishnu, Hema and CVL Narasimha Rao are going to compete with each other.

Going a step ahead, Prakash Raj even announced his panel comprising of 27 members. He claims that he worked on it for the past two years and will strive to bring a lot of respect to MAA. He promised a new building for MAA too. At this time, the 'non-local' issue came into the picture. Some people are saying that Prakash Raj is not a local artist which means he doesn't know the problems of Telugu artists but some others support by claiming that he is a part of this industry for the past 25 years and he is a perfect candidate for the position.

This led to a heated debate on social media and there is a talk that 'MAA' got split into various groups due to this. The actors are taking digs and criticising each other which caught the attention of the media. There was a talk that the 'MAA' president election is going to be unanimous and Mural Mohan agreed to it which surprised many. He stated that Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Jayasudha and others are trying to hold discussions and make the elections completely unanimous.

Whilst Prakash Raj is facing criticism for being a non-local person, he was the first one to announce his willingness to compete in the elections. But insiders say that some of his panel members are slipping away from his hand. While the talk of unanimous decision is one of the reasons, the 'non-local' issue is also turning out to be costly for Prakash Raj as per reports. A few bigwigs of the industry are reportedly showing their interest in giving a woman the opportunity to handle MAA. We need to wait until we know the truth behind it. Prakash Raj recently made a tweet asking about the date of elections with the hashtag #justasking. Experts claim that it is a counter to Murali Mohan's statement.
