Is Vijay Going To Overtake Aamir Khan?

Ever since the pandemic hit the country, the Hindi film industry has not been the same. They have failed to deliver hit films for the past year or two. Barring one or two, most of the movies they released in theatres met with disastrous fate. Even big stars like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and others faced big failures.
Everyone pinned a lot of hopes on 'Laal Singh Chadda' as it is an Aamir Khan film but it turned out to be a bigger disappointment than the rest. Everyone was surprised to see such a weak film from Mr. Perfectionist. Also, the ongoing controversies too took a toll on the movie's box office prospects. The reviews were utterly bad and the movie just managed to get 11.50 crores on its opening day.
Even Akshay Kumar's 'Raksha Bandhan' failed to get good reviews. Getting such low numbers for a big hero's film is quite staggering. Now, 'Liger' is getting released on 25th August and promotions are in full swing. Looking at the craze of Vijay, many are predicting that 'Liger' will be having a huge opening day at the box office.
It would be very weird to see if a South hero's first Hindi film crosses the opening day collections of a huge star like Aamir Khan. The big question is, Can Vijay Deverakonda do it? Let us wait and see what happens.
As we know, 'Liger' is coming out in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages. Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta together are bankrolling the film on a grand scale.
