The Sankranti season is known for big-ticket releases. We see 2-3 star hero releases within a gap of a day or two during this season. While it would be deemed highly risky for the movie business in any other season, only the Sankranti festive period has the capacity to hold multiple big-budget films. If the talk is good, all the films can end up in profits and we have seen it this year with movies like 'Waltair Veerayya' and 'Veera Simha Reddy' turning into successes despite the competition.
While there was a huge drama surrounding the locking of horns between Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna who are past their prime, imagine what would happen if Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu were at loggerheads during the Sankranti season. The thought itself is quite mouth-watering and it will really be a festival for true movie lovers. As we know, superstar Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram' will be hitting the screens worldwide on 13th January 2024. The release date has been announced long back and it was clarified once again with the release of a video glimpse.
While Pawan Kalyan's 'BRO' is releasing in July this year, there are high chances that either 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' or 'OG' will be arriving on the big screens during the Pongal festive season. If it really happens, we will witness a gigantic storm at the box office. Keeping the competition regarding who collects more aside, the Telugu box office will witness a rampage like never before. Imagine the movies of Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan playing in side-by-side screens! Imagine the chance of getting to see Pawan in the morning show and Mahesh during the matinee show.
