Directed CV Kumar who is known for his experimental films like 'Pizza', 'Soodu Kavvum', 'Irudhu Sutru' and others made a film titled 'Mayavan' with Sundeep Kishan as a hero. It was his first film as a director and he made it with good expenditure. The film got a good talk but it did not do well commercially. The timing of the release and delay in production proved to be costly for this film and it ended up as a cost failure.
