Makers of Maestro Should Have Picked Tabu Over Tamannaah?

Nithiin's Maestro premiered on Disney Hotstar on the 17th of this month and got off to mixed reviews. While those who haven't watched the original, Andhadhun might find it to be a decent watch, those who have the Hindi version already might not develop a great liking towards the Nithiin starrer. The entire screenplay pattern and the narrative of Maestro are fairly identical to that of Andhadhun but the film doesn't quite have the same impetus as that of the original. It falls short in almost each and every aspect when compared to that of Andadhun and needless to say, the viewers will certainly draw similarities between Andadhun and Maestro.

Coming to the topic, in Maestro, Tamanaah reprised the role played by Tabu in the original. The milky white beauty performed to the best of her capabilities but there was something off about the drive of her character. Incidentally, there is a fair bit of glamour show from Tamannah in the otherwise conventional role. There are several scenes in the film, where Tamannaah shows off her impeccable glamour. This isn't the specification of the same character in the original. Given Tamannaah's sensous portrayal, the vibe and the essence of the character changed completely.

Also, Tamannaah's pairing with senior actor Naresh looked a bit odd. The age difference and the completely contrasting physical appearance don't help the case either. Tamannaah looked a bit too young alongside Naresh. Instead of casting Tamannaah, the makers could simply gone for Tabu, who excelled in her role in Andhadhun. Tabu would have brought the proceedings to life with her stellar performance and also, she would have infused originality into the narrative with her subtle yet impactful appearance.

Tabu's exquisite performance in Andhadhun was one of the driving forces of thefilm. Moreover, she would have been a better pairing for Naresh. Tabu's inclusion in the lead cast of Maestro could have worked wonders for the film in so many more ways than one. There's no doubting Tamannaah, who delivered one of her career best performances, but things did not quite gel together with her playing the role. Well, the makers of Maestro seem to have missed a trick by not casting Tabu.
