After 'Nawab', legendary director Mani Ratnam is working on 'Ponniyin Selvan' which is based on the novel with the same name. Mani Ratnam often mentioned that it is his dream project and he is making sure that he brings his vision perfectly onto the screen.
A major schedule was wrapped up in Ramoji Film City and the team planned to go to Madhya Pradesh for another schedule but it got canceled due to the second wave of Coronavirus. The shooting came to a halt but sources say that it may begin from June 15th once again.
As planned, Mani Ratnam and team will be going to Mandawa region of Madhya Pradesh and certain portions will be canned in Maheshwar too. Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions are producing this film jointly and this high-budget historic flick was a stellar cast which includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aditi Rao and many others. 'Ponniyin Selvan' is expected to hit the screens next year.
