Megastar Chiranjeevi started his career as an actor way back in 1977 after he joined acting school in Madras, now Chennai, under Devadas Kanakala. Rajendra Prasad was his senior and then batchmate.

Chiranjeevi got his first opportunity after he completed the course in Punadi Rallu. It was an experimental movie at that time with Rao Gopal Rao, Jayasudha and Chiranjeevi in lead roles.

Post this movie, Chiranjeevi did Manchu Pallaki, Manavoori Pandavalu and even became villain in films like 47 Rojulu, Idhi Kadha Kadu. After many bit roles in big hero films and good roles in hit films, he got recognition as a hero and by the time, Khaidi released, he was one of the popular young heroes. Khaidi made him a star and later, he became Megastar and Icon of Telugu Cinema.

As they say, we should never forget our roots, Megastar always showed his gratitude for all the people who became his friends during his struggling days and those who gave him his first chances to shine.

Now, Telugu Cinema lost his first film director, Rajkumar. The director lost his wife due to illness and that made him even more lonely which ultimately resulted in deterioration in his health too.

He died due to cardiac arrest on Saturday. When Chiranjeevi got to know that Rajkumar was struggling for money, he helped him by joining him in Apollo Hospital.

It is sad to loose such a talented technician for Telugu Cinema. Rajkumar couldn't become as successful even though he was highly talented.

He is survived by two sons and the youngest is looking to shift him to Uyyuru, Vijayawada his birthplace for last rites. We hope his family finds strength in sad hour.
