Giving such a huge discount is really commendable.
There is a clear strategy behind restricting this offer just for the first day. It is the youth who will walk into the theatres due to the discount prizes and if the talk comes out positively on social media, the movie is expected to pick up instantly. Movies like 'Balagam' and 'Jathiratnalu' did exceptionally well but 'Mem Famous' doesn't have any special attractions. The movie is filled with an entirely new cast and this is the debut film of Sumanth Prabhas who is the hero and director of this movie. So, 'Mem Famous' came up with this new strategy.
Previously, the team of 'Writer Padmabhushan' team sold tickets for free to women on the first day. Even before that, 'Major' team screened a lot of premiers before the release in order to spread the positive talk before the movie came into the theatres.
