Current sensational Vijay Devarakonda joined hands with dashing director Puri Jagannadh for the action entertainer Liger which marks the first Pan-India film for both director and actor. Amid a lot of expectations and buzz, the much-awaited film hit the theatres the other day in a big way.

Despite coming with a lot of expectations, Liger is said to have fallen short of meeting expectations. The Pan-India film started its day one at theatres with a mixed talk. The massive combination of Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Devarakonda made people expect something unique with Liger.

However, Liger fared well on day one, despite having a mixed talk. As per the official numbers released by the makers, Liger grossed Rs 33.12 Cr across languages on day one. The numbers registered by the acting entertainer are bigger given the fact that Liger hit the theatres on a weekday which is Thursday.

Talking about the overseas performance, Liger is said to have received a flying start and already crossed the half-million mark. If the same trend continues and the weekend can come in handy then Liger can do wonders.

If not for the mixed talk, Liger could have seen better numbers and big revenue. Viewers gave a mixed talk to liger from the premiers itself. On the flip side, a few top reviewers gave bad reviews for the Vijay Devarakonda starrer. We have to wait and see how Liger can utilize the weekend.

If weekends are used best then the film can see big collections. Having no competition from other films is favoring Liger and Vijay fans are hoping that the film would turn out as a big hit.

Liger is an action drama film with a Mixed martial arts backdrop written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. The Pan-India film is bankrolled jointly by Puri Jagannadh and Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions and Puri Connects banners. Bollywood beauty made a debut in Tollywood with Liger.

Veteran actress Ramya Krishna played Vijay Devarakonda's mother in Liger. Legendary boxer Mike Tyson also appeared in the action film. However, the former boxer played just a cameo and not a full-length role.
