Nagarjuna Akkineni established Great India Entertainments banner in 1998, even though Annapurna Studios also came under his control. He felt that the legacy banner cannot be used for every film.
He produced Aha with Jagapathi Babu as the lead and produced Sree Seetharamula Kalyanam Chothamu Rarandi with Akkineni Nageswararao, Venkat as leads in the direction of YVS Chowdary.
He later produced Chandralekha, Seetharamaraju with Kamakshi Movies, Yuvakudu with N. Sudhakar Reddy. Except for Seetharamaraju, other two films lost money while SSKCR and Aha were hits.
He took over Annapurna Studios and started producing continuously on the banner until he recently. With Hello, he established Manam Enterprises.
Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya always showed inclination to produce films. Following Nagarjuna's path, they have decided to come up with their own production house and on that, they are looking to produce quality medium budget films.
They will be giving chances to students at Annapurna International School also, if they find script promising. Already they have a director in the mind and they will follow Nani's example.
Their common friend will join them to look after the production and the friend will be officially credited as producer while they will be presenters of the film(s).
Samantha will look into the creative decisions of this banner whenever she decides to take a break from shoots, say sources. Naga Chaitanya is busy with his films like Love Story and he may give suggestions, but this is a brain-child of Samantha, it seems.
Nagarjuna might ask one of Chaitanya, Akhil to get involved in Annapurna Studios banner creative decisions in future, along with Supriya, it seems.
