Nani is the only Telugu actor to have two consecutive OTT releases. Both of his previous films, V and Tuck Jagadish premiered on Amazon Prime Video. While V had hit the digital screens later last year, Tuck Jagadish premiered on OTT earlier this month. Sadly for Nani, neither of these films garnered a unanimously positive response from the digital audiences. Given the fact that both of his previous films have gone the OTT way, Nani is currently focused on releasing his next project Shyam Singha Roy in theatres. He wants the periodic action drama to release in theatres no matter what. He has conveyed his intentions to the producers of the project and they have obliged to the same.
The latest update is that OTT giant, Netflix has acquired the OTT rights of Shyam Singha Roy. They haven't acquired the direct to digital rights but the post-theatrical digital rights of the Nani starrer. The OTT platform has reportedly shelled out a whopping amount of money for the post-theatrical digital rights of the film. An official announcement on the same will be out shortly. Even if there are a few hardships, Shyam Singha Roy will most certainly be releasing in theatres no matter what.
Shyam Singha Roy is a big budget project and it is currently in the final leg of post production. The filming was wrapped up recently and the makers are currently focusing on getting the final cut readied at the earliest. The film is directed by Rahul Sankrityan and it is one of the most prestigious projects in Nani's career. It most certainly is the costliest project in Nani's career. The makers had spent in upwards of Rs 40 crores on the periodic action drama.
Shyam Singha Roy has Nani, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian, and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. The film is set in Kolkata backdrop and it is bankrolled under Niharika Entertainments banner. As for Nani, he is done with the film and he is currently busy with Ante Sundaraniki which is being directed by Vivek Athreya. This film has Nazriya Nazim in the female lead role.
