It is evident that audiences are slowly getting addicted to watching the newly released movies on digital platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc more than going all the way to the theatres.
Most of the movie lovers are trying to avoid going to the theatres as the films will become available on digital platforms in just two weeks. So, Telugu Film Producer’s Council has decided to increase the window period. From now onwards, the movies are going to be in theatres for longer periods before getting available on digital platforms like Prime Video and Netflix. The Producers Council declared a window period of eight weeks for a film to get released on digital platforms after the theatrical release. This is a really good move by the producers Council as Amazon and Netflix have become a big threat for small and medium budget movies.
So, from now on, the digital websites will have to wait for at least 8 weeks before making them available to stream online. This period is enough for the small and medium budget movies and will help to increase the revenues of a film.
