RRR is the biggest multi-starrer in making. The film marks the collaboration of Ram Charan and Jr NTR, two of the top-tier stars in Telugu cinema. The coming together of Ram Charan and Jr NTR has attained a whole lot of buzz for RRR. The film is riding high on expectations as both Mega and Nandamuri followers are pinning high hopes on the magnum opus periodic action drama. But as revealed by Rajamouli's father and the story writer of RRR, Vijayendra Prasad, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR weren't always the favorites to star in the film.

Rajamouli and I had planned to work on a multi-starrer even before RRR's story was developed. The idea was to bring on board two top stars. We contemplated the idea of working with Rajinikanth - Jr NTR, Allu Arjun - Jr NTR, Suriya, Karthi, and other combinations as well. One day, Rajmouli came up with the idea of developing a fictitious story between two of the legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju, and Komaram Bheem, Vijayendra Prasad said.

The renowned writer went on to say that Rajamouli's storyline seemed very interesting as both Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem were born at the same time. They even went on a life-changing journey at the same time. But nobody knew where they went or what they did during their time away. But almost coincidentally enough, they came back at the same time and started the fight for freedom. Interestingly, both of them followed a similar warfare tactic i.e, the Guerilla method. They were largely successful in their rebellion. RRR's story is based on what would have happened if Raju and Bheem met and how they would have supported each other.

Vijayendra Prasad said that RRR is a fictitious tale of two of India's most ferocious freedom fighters who had their own ways of fighting for the country. He says Rajamouli has blended action and drama for the film. He states that Alia Bhatt plays a brief yet highly impactful role in the film. It is known that RRR is slated for theatrical release on the 13th of October.
