Bollywood's crazy hero Ranveer Singh is currently working with director Kabir Khan for '83'. This film is based on the journey of the Indian cricket team which won the world cup in 1983. This team captained by Kapil Dev created a sensation and defeated the then world beaters West Indies in the finals to secure the cup. It was this incident that made our country into a cricket crazy nation.
Ranveer Singh and his team are now trying to recreate those golden moments on the silver screen. The 'Gully Boy' hero will be seen as Kapil Dev while his real wife Deepika Padukone is doing the role of Kapil's wife Romi Dev. As cricket is not limited to a particular language, the film's unit decided to make this film universal.
The film is being dubbed into Telugu and Tamil too. Akkineni Nagarjuna is presenting this film under 'Annapurna Studios' banner while Kamal Hassan is taking this film into Tamil Nadu under his 'Raj Kamal International' banner.
