Maanaadu, a Tamil language action thriller based on the concept of time loop turned out to be a blockbuster in the Tamil theatrical market. Now, the film is set to be remade in Telugu.

Suresh Productions had recently announced that they own the remake rights of Maanaadu and the Telugu remake will be commencing shoot very soon.

Now, Pinkvilla, a noted Bollywood media portal has reported that Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is in talk to play the central role in the Telugu remake of Maanaadu.

"Suresh Babu has discussed the collaboration on Maanaadu with Ravi Teja and the mass maharaja has shown keen interest in coming on board the film. He has loved the basic concept and is waiting to hear the final narration of the script that is being reworked keeping a different set of audience sensibilities in mind. Once the narration is done, he would decide on doing or not doing the film, but at this point of time, it’s Ravi Teja, who is the front runner for the remake" the report from PinkVilla read.

Well, it would be really interesting to see how things pan out. In the Tamil version, Simbu delivered a brilliant performance. We should wait and see how Ravi Teja will emulate this character now. Notably, in the Tamil version, SJ Suryah also delivered a spotless performance in the antagonist role. The makers of the Telugu remake will also have to rope in a very capable actor in order to do full justice to this role now.

Suresh Productions have commissioned a team of young writers to work on the Telugu remake of Maanaadu. But the production house is typically known for keeping the essence of the film intact. So, we can expect the remake to be very identical to the original, Maanaadu. The deails about the director who will be handling the Telugu remake and the rest of the cast and crew are expected to be unveiled by the makers in the days to follow. This project is still in scripting stage now. More details will be out in the due course, say reports.
