Despite rising popularity and incredible acting, Richa Gangopadhyay decided to quit the film industry and went back to the US to pursue her MBA. Soon, she got married to her classmate and settled in Oregon.

Richa, who acted in Telugu films like Leader, Nagavalli, Mirapakai, Sarocharu, Mirchi and Bhai, has left the films seven years ago. The former actress was a rising star back in the 2010s.

However, after staying away from the acting for many years, Richa said has no regrets about quitting acting. "Mayakkam Enna" directed by Selvaraghavan, which stars Dhanush and Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead roles released on this day before 9 years.

Richa's character as Yamini won a lot of appreciation and the movie is still being celebrated by many. Now on the 9th anniversary of release, Richa opened up on how movies turned herself to focus on passion towards MBA.

She also said about her marriage with Joe, "And for all you Mayakkam Enna fans, in real life, I am Karthik and Joe is my Yamini. He's always supported me no matter what- 4 years together, even though just 1 year married- and that's the kind of companionship I wish for anyone else out there looking for a life partner."

On the movie front, Richa was last seen in 2013's Bhai alongside Nagarjuna Akkineni.
