When Samantha arrived onto the scene, many couldn't believe their eyes that a neighbourhood girl can be so pretty. Yes, she had that effect on everyone. When directors were running after dreamy looking beauties and glamorous girls with questionable acting talents, Gautham Menon shattered all those glasses we were wearing to choose a heroine and introduced Samantha Ruth Prabhu to all of us, on 26th February, 2010 in Ye Maaya Chesave.

After Trisha Krishnan, Shreya Saran, Asin became old and Anushka, Kajal Aggarwal, Tamanna were on the rise when Samantha was introduced to Telugu screen in Ye Maaya Chesave.

She grabbed the hearts of Telugu audiences, especially youth with her looks and more than her looks, her stunning portrayal made people go crazy for her. She immediately tried to fit into glamour doll requirements as well.

Brundhavanam, Dookudu became blockbusters helping her conquer family audiences hearts in big hero films. But back then, she wasn't really seen as glamour doll and she is still not seen as one but she did pull off such roles too.

She always made people go crazy for her with her performances. After a flop, she got good roles in Eega and got a glamorous makeover with Attharintiki Daredi. She chose to go even more bold with Sikander. She wore bikini for the first time and in Chiyaan Vikram's 10 Arindakulla, she even appeared in a negative character.

But for Telugu audiences, she remained cute "Bunga Muthi" (pout) girl. In Tamil and Telugu, she ruled hearts with most successful films and her choices were always based on the popular banners or best scripts.

She worked hard to prove that she is not just an expression book actress and when she played an young mother to Nagarjuna in Manam, she just showed the range of characters, she can pull off with ease.

Later, she had another slow phase in her career with disasters. She chose to do films that have better stories and strong characters for her, with talk of her marriage going around.

Both, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha announced their relationship publicly and got married with acceptance of their families in a grand way. This brought a change in fortune for Naga Chaitanya as well.

Samantha as Samantha Akkineni delivered her career biggest blockbusters like Rangasthalam, Mahanati. Post these two films, she could look into scripts that require her to be the single lead or carry the whole burden and even chose those movies that come under experimental category.

Her charm showed big affect on Telugu people in Oh Baby and once again, she and her husband showed rocking chemistry in Majili. Now, she is looking forward to entering into web series space that too with a solid role in Family Man kind of widely acclaimed series.

She is also looking to enter into production of films with her husband, Naga Chaitanya and this could be her next big step in life after setting foot in the Industry and marriage. We wish her luck in this aspect.

Well, when we are talking about her, we cannot ignore her big heart as she helping many young children with rare diseases, through her Pratyusha Foundation. She is also known for lending her helping hand to friends in need and has a strong will to work for better respect for women in the society.

Even though she did suffer some backlash from Akkineni fans, Mahesh fans for her expressing herself and her reservations on public platform, she never let them affect her judgement.

We expect her to continue entertaining us with engaging performances, enchanting stories and empowering inspiration. A decade of Samantha seems to have passed by, in a blink of an eye and we wish to keep blinking long enough to notice her meteoric rise further and futher.
