This is not to question or disrespect a jury but did they really had no choice but to go with those performances to award?
Rangasthalam music getting best album is understandable and fair. But Bhaagamathie performance from Anushka doesn't deserve best actress award.
Keerthy Suresh is given outstanding performance as if this is a special mention but she needed to be awarded in popular category. Anyways, she got recognition, we can have a dispute but debate doesn't work as it feels like a drag.
Now, the real question is Payal Rajput as the best debutant and Mahesh Babu getting best actor for Bharat Ane Nenu. When Ram Charan cleared delivered a much better performance in a tougher role, handing the best actor award to Mahesh looks ridiculously.
It is hard to convince people for Ram Charan that he is hearing impaired and from a village. But he pulled it off quite remarkable and even made Chittibabu his identity card.
Payal Rajput's award seems to have gone to her due to lack of options. Her performance in the role of Indu is not any different from regular ones and in fact, she had to accept much more skin show in the film than normal.
Awards have always been either going to popular films or to films that no one has ever seen. There should be a better system which balances audiences verdict and critics verdict than just go with a jury's verdict which at times can be biased!
