Actor Siddharth is making news more on Twitter rather than through his movies lately. The actor's Twitter activity is making headlines for all kinds of reasons these days. Recently, he landed himself in a big controversy after he made a tweet relating to star Badminton player Saina Nehwal. His usage of words did not go down well with netizens as well as the player which resulted in Siddharth facing a lot of heat.
The 'Bommarillu' actor seems to have realised his mistake finally as he posted an apology letter to Saina Nehwal on Twitter. He wrote, "I want to apologise to you for my rude joke that I wrote as a response to a tweet of yours, a few days ago. I may disagree with you on many things but even my disappointment or anger when I read your tweet, cannot justify my tone and words. I know I have more grace in me than that."
He added, "As for the joke… If a joke needs to be explained, then it wasn't a very good joke to begin with. Sorry about a joke that didn't land. I, however must insist my word play and humour had none of the malicious intent that so many people from all quarters have attributed to it. I am a staunch feminist ally and I assure you there was no gender implied in my tweet and certainly no intent to attack you as a woman."
He concluded by saying, "I hope we can put this behind us and that you will accept my letter. You will always be my Champion. Honestly, Siddharth."
It is to be seen how Saina Nehwal responds to this open apology from the South Indian actor.
Siddharth started his career as an assistant director for legendary Mani Ratnam. He played one of the leads in the great director's 'Yuva' and became a full-fledged hero later with visionary director Shankar's 'Boys'. He stepped into Tollywood with 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' and went on to become a crazy star among youth films like 'Bommarillu', 'Chukkallo Chandrudu', 'Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam', 'Oy!', 'Aata', 'Love Failure' and others. He made a comeback recently with 'Maha Samudram' but it was a big failure.
