The entertainment industry continues to fear the ongoing Coronavirus. Given the Covid-19 scare, many films have halted the shootings. The theatre business is also not encouraging.
The makers who have locked dates for release in April and May have changed their minds and canceled their release as of now. No films are expected to have theatrical releases in the coming months.
Films that are now running in theatres are not getting encouraging collections. On top of this, the Andhra Pradesh government issued a new Government Order (GO) to regulate the ticket prices in the state.
All these developments have forced the theatre owners to think of shutting down the theatres. The Suresh Distributors responded to the situation quickly and announced the closure of the theatres they own in Andhra Pradesh.
The theatres which will be closed in Andhra Pradesh include the famous Jothee theatre in the shore city Visakhapatnam. Not less than half a dozen theatres in port city Kakinada will also be closed.
On the other hand, there is no information on the situation of theatres in Telangana. Theatres and multiplexes are running with full occupancy now. Except for Vakeel Saab, no other movies are running in theatres in Telangana. With no films left for the release, the theatres in Telangana might also do the same.
