After a highly acclaimed 'Gully Boy', crazy Bollywood hero Ranveer Singh is working on '83' which is a film that takes you through the journey of Indian Cricket team winning the World Cup in 1983. It was a historic moment that turned one of the popular sports in the country into a religion. It was the first time India won the World Cup.
Ranveer plays the role of legendary all-rounder and Indian team captain Kapil Dev in this film. The makers took a lot of care over Ranveer's look and the posters released to date remind you definitely of Kapil Dev. Ranveer's wife and star heroine Deepika Padukone will be seen stepping into the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Dev in this film. Her look was revealed recently with a poster that has the lead pair looking into each other's eyes and Deepika holding the hands of Ranveer. The styling team did a good job bringing back the 80's look for both the actors.
'83' is directed by Kabir Khan who made films like 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Bhajrangi Bhaijaan' in the past. Ranveer and Deepika are co-producing this film along with a few others. This film is released in Telugu by Nagarjuna and under Kamal Hassan's banner in Tamil.
