Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners To Pay Shares According To Star Status!
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 May 2019 8:04 AM GMTTamil Film Industry has seen many innovations in style of business and introduction of technology into films. Now, they are looking to introduce a new system of paying shares to producers.
They came up with a ranking system of their own and accordingly, they want to pay shares further to producers.
In Tier-I category, they placed Rajnikanth, Vijay and Ajith. These three big stars command huge openings and hence, their films will get 60% of collections as share, in the first week and 65% from second week, in multiplexes.
The single screens have proposed to give 55% in first week and 60% from second week to the stars in Tier-I
In Tier-II, they placed Suriya, Dhanush, Silambarasan, Sivakarthikeyan, Vijay Sethupathi and Jayam Ravi. All of their films will receive 55% as share from Multiplexes and 50% as share from Single screens, in first week. 60% from Multiplexes and 55% from single screens from second week.
All other actors are given Tier-III and their films will fetch 50% as share from entire run from Multiplexes and 45% as share from single screens.
This is a proposal from Theatres Owners and Multiplexs association of Tamil Nadu and producers have called them for a meeting to discuss on this issue. Producers get 70-80% of the revenue as share from the theaters and this new plan will force them to make more films with stars!
