Team RRR has delivered widely anticipated bad news. The makers have announced that the film will not be arriving in theaters this October, owing to the restrained theatrical industry. Cinema halls across the country are yet to resume operation in a full-fledged manner and the makers have cited this as the reason behind their decision to postpone the film's release. The latest social media post from team RRR confirms that the film is indeed deferring its October release plans. Interestingly enough, the new release date of the Rajamouli directorial wasn't announced in the social media post. In fact, the makers have stated that the release date will be announced only after cinema halls across the globe turn fully functional.

"Post production nearly done to have #RRRMovie ready by October'21.
But as known to many, we are postponing the release but cannot announce a new date with theatres indefinitely closed. We will release at the earliest possible date when the world cinema markets are up and running," the post from team RRR read. As expected, the film is not arriving in theaters this Dasara season, which comes as a bad news to the followers of the magnum opus who have been eagerly waiting for the film's release for a long time now.

There are reports claiming that the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer will be releasing in theatres next Sankranthi season but will ultimately depend on the Covid third wave. If there are no more Covid outbreaks in the future and the situation permits new theatrical releases, RRR will be hitting the marquee next Sankranthi. The makers are contemplating 8th January as the optimal release date for the film but this release plan is subject to change, based on the situation at that point in time. The makers of the Rajamouli directorial plan to prepare the final cut at the earliest so that they can plan the release window whenever favorable conditions emerge. If RRR is to release in theatres, cinema halls across the globe should be fully functional and the Covid transmission risk should be at bay. Now, we have to wait for an official announcement on the release date.
